The gears keep turning. And I keep working. I started hammering on "The Rhesus Chart" in anger on September 14th. Today is October 14th; I just passed the 35,000 word mark, which is slightly more than one-third of the way through the novel (going by its target length). I'm actually writing faster than this amount of progress would suggest, but I lost most of a week to the broken bone—chronic pain seems to be the only reliable way of banishing my muse—and need periodic days off to let my hands recover.
Sorry about the lack of blogging: normal service will be resumed in due course. But right now, I'm preoccupied with getting the fifth Laundry novel finished (at least in first draft) before Hogmanay. What would you rather have: more blog entries, or more Laundry?
