Back to: Brief commercial interlude | Forward to: A question about the future of the world wide web

Upcoming events

I'm on the move again, from the middle of next week.

On September 24th, I'll be doing an interview, Q&A, and signing at the American Book Center in Amsterdam (the largest English language bookstore in the Netherlands).

This is while en route to Portland, Oregon, where from October 2nd to October 4th I'm guest of honor at the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival and Cthulhucon. I'll post my program items here when they're finalized. In the meantime, you might want to keep an eye on my twitter feed for rapid-fire updates.

More welcome publicity for the Laundry Files? Congratulations for a n other free (?) trip, too!

AIUI, Portland is almost civilised .....

As synchronicity would have it, we arrive in Portland on the afternoon of the 3rd for reasons not much related to the Necronomicon and will be there a couple of days. By all means, keep us posted on when you'll be where and we'll be there.

Welcome to our little town of 'quirk' and hops. I'm not attending the con myself, although am local and will be around if you're interested in having a reader meetup.

If you're looking to indulge in some of the local suds I'd suggest downtown's Bailey's Taproom for a small gathering or Apex in southeast if you expect a larger turnout.

Good to hear about the Cthulhucon GoH spot. I'll see about snagging a ticket.

Will you be making an "official" appearance at Powell's while you're in town?

I'm also going to be in town but not at Cthulhucon, though certainly enough people I know will be there. I'm up for any meatspace gathering.

Looking forward to your visit to Portland. I'll note that there is a decent pub (The Moon and Sixpence) and a beer hall / bicycle shop (Velo Cult) ~200m north of the Hollywood Theatre. If you're staying downtown, I second the recommendation for Bailey's Taproom. They have a second room upstairs.

Hooray, coming to town for my birthday! Last band practice before my concert at the same time, though, boo.

Let me know if you need any recommendations in Amsterdam!
